The Exchange - Phase II

Project Type – Residential, Conversion

The exclusive rooftop development, located in Jesmond, completed in September 2015. All flats were rented out off plan by young professionals in the city.

The Exchange is located in the heart of Jesmond, a popular suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne, on the edge of South Jesmond Conservation area. It was built in 1949, in a simple late art deco form and is home to various commercial clients including British Telecom. Over the years it became known in the local area as The Telephone Exchange.

Recently Taemar embarked on a penthouse development at The Exchange, located on the existing roof level above the second floor. This level had formerly been the level used to accommodate the lift motor room and a redundant plant/tank area.

Taemar’s work on the development over the last year has meant the third floor now hosts three modern apartments, with spectacular views of Jesmond and the wider city.
