In 2006 Taemar completed the conversion of the historic Thomas Bewick House into 18 stunning city centre apartments, each completely unique, along with a leisure and restaurant area complete with cinema room on the ground floor.

Throughout the process meticulous care and attention was paid to ensure the development incorporated many original period features of the beautiful and famous building.

The external facade of the building was retained and cleaned whilst the internal building was transformed.

The development includes several permanent displays of artwork commissioned as a tribute to Thomas Bewick, the world’s most famous wood engraver, whose workshop was originally located on-site.

Thomas Bewick House is located a short walk from Newcastle Central Station and is one of the first buildings visitors to the city by train witness as they leave the station.
